Why do you scrapbook?
Introduction November 11th, 2007
Welcome to the new scrapbook-chat! It is my hope that together we will create a space that inspires all types of scrapbookers - from newbies to seasoned experts. We will focus on the ideas that touch our hearts and on the reasons why we started to scrapbook in the first place.
Why did you start? Was it the pretty paper, embellishments and pens? I openly admit that I love shopping for scrapbooking supplies. But the reason I started to scrapbook? It was to:
- create a tangible way to pass down a legacy of love, faith and family.
- share with my children and their children all the reasons why I love them.
- remember all of the special moments.
- express in creative ways how important each one of my children and our family is to me.
Each day it is my goal to build up my family, to inspire and encourage my husband and my children to become the people God created them to be. And I know that as a mom I will one day be in the background. I will be the foundation that the lives of my children are built on.
They may not remember all that we did together and how many times I told them I love them. But I want them to be able to one day hold one of my scrapbooks and remember. That each day my goal was to put one more brick on the foundation of love. Each book and each page represents one of those bricks.
Let us go on this journey together and put more bricks on the foundation of our families; one scrapbook at a time and one page at a time.
